Hi! My name is Tammy Holland and I am the Division Director for Mosquito Division. Our season was a successful one with approximately 80 players registered. We created 7 teams of 11 to 12 players each, which worked very well. All players were given the opportunity to play every position and I believe that most players were challenged no matter what their ability was. We had one team, the Red Sox, who travelled to Westside to play in Westside's house tournament where the Red Sox finished 2nd place. We hosted our own tournament with Kamloops and Rutland sending a team each.

Everyone had a great time and Rutland ran away with the win. The spring season ended with an exciting final game between the A's and the Rockies and the A's finishing in 1st place. Our summer (all-star) season was successful with 24 players trying out for a position. We carried a team of 15 players with one alternate. We had 2 Co- Head Coaches, Don Emmons and Dustin Weber, each with their full coaching credits, one manager, Dennis Holland who holds his level 1 and lots of help from parents. Our team played in the Valley of Champions Tournament in Rutland, and also played numerous games against Kamloops, Rutland and Salmon Arm.

The team ended their post season hosting zones at Lakeview Park where they finished 2nd place which gave them an automatic place in the Provincial Tournament in Cloverdale, BC on the August long weekend. Our players all played very well at Provincials and we were all very happy with their effort. The experience of the regular spring season and the summer post season was a good one. We learned a lot and look forward to carrying those lessons learned on to an even bigger and better division next season. Thank you to all who helped me create a great beginning mosquito experience for our son and the rest of the players involved this season.

Sincerely,
Tammy Holland ( Mom of Jacob)

Location: Lakeview Park / Peanut Pool

Game times run Monday through Friday and practices are scheduled around the games. All games and practices are at Lakeview Park, better know as the Peanut Pool park. We are always in need of volunteers to help run each team. Coaches, team managers, equipment people, scorekeepers and field maintenance helpers, so if you are interested in any of these jobs please step forward, don't be shy. Baseball couldn't run without all the great volunteers.

MOSQUITO : Pitching is permitted in this division and a pitcher may pitch a maximum of 3 innings in a calendar day and 6 innings in a calendar week (defined in Rule 13 as 12:01 a.m. Monday to 12:00 p.m. (Midnight) the following Sunday). No balks may be called against the pitcher. Lead offs are not permitted. The base paths are 60 feet and the distance between the pitching rubber and home plate is 46 feet. The pitching mound is raised by a gradual slope to a height of 6 inches above the level of the base paths. The recommended outfield fence dimension is 200 feet. A regulation game is 6 innings unless called earlier for a permitted reason, in which case if 4 innings have been completed, or if the home team has scored more runs in three or three and a fraction innings than the visiting team has scored in 4 and a half innings, then the game is complete (as per Rule 14). Other guidelines for play in the Mosquito Division are found in Rule 20.
